The statistics rate for divorce in United States, shows 60% percent of marriages fail and end up divorced in first marriages and 80% percent divorce of second marriages. If you are found to be in one of these statistics…what then?
“The sacrifice you want is a broken spirit. A broken and repentant heart, O God, you will not despise.” (1)
God’s love refreshes our hope as we draw near to Him. His ear is attentive to the cries of the broken hearted. Perhaps what you need today is hope…hope that God will make a way. I needed this kind of assurance years ago, when my world was such a mess. Hurt and shattered by a divorce, I had questions. Why did my marriage fail? Why would God allow me to experience such pain? God’s gentle touch softened my hard, bruised heart. Then I began to see a little clearer how God worked in this place of disappointment. He had a purpose for good, in spite of me.
When my husband left, I was depressed, trying to pick up the pieces of my life.
Those low spirits drew me to the Scriptures to find comfort and help. Sometimes in the heat of our grief we can’t see clearly, let alone stay focused. We need a fresh perspective! Even today, the need for reminders, refreshment, and renewal in the Scriptures are necessary to speak truth to a frail heart, one like mine and perhaps yours as well.
God created you for Himself! Living for Jesus is accepting Him as the only way – the true way! “…I am the way the truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (2) We are given a new life when we choose to follow Him. If you have not accepted Jesus, today is the day. Simply confess your sins, believe in Jesus, and begin to start living for Him. You now belong to the Lord! You are His and He is yours. To find the sweetest discovery that Jesus loves you is a beautiful security of ownership and belonging. His very own hand-print is stamped on your heart. His Spirit lives and breathes inside of you. you can have the assurance you are His.
“…Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by Name; you are Mine” (3)
God has ordained your life, and chosen you. It is at great cost that you have been redeemed. Thank the Lord He loves you, my friend; He is so good to not only call you but to claim the right to make you His very own. His eye is on you! He initiates His love towards you. He LOVES you! God assures you…”you are MINE” The Word confirms you are called by name. How personal is that? God loves YOU, and in His great love He has redeemed you.
My best efforts to save my marriage were not enough, but God’s love never failed me. I learned a hard lesson, God hates divorce. No wonder it is so ugly, and painful. I bear the regret of a divorce woman. In that place when all was lost and out of control I leaned harder on God’s grace to carry me through. Through repentance, sorrow and tears God heart of compassion pardon my sin. His love washed over me to refresh, renew, restore and transform my heart.
Heavenly Father I come and ask You to reveal Yourself to me. I desire to know You, Who You are and what You have done for me personally. Change me so my world will change. Thank you for forgiving my sins. Amen
